Montana Snow Report
How it works

Text Message Terms

Montana Snow Report Alerts · Montana Property Reports, LLC · Effective September 6, 2026

The program

Montana Snow Report Alerts sends text messages you set up yourself about Montana snow, mountain passes, snow basins and avalanche warnings: for example, a pass's winter travel impact reaching a level you chose, new snow at a station you follow, or a morning brief. Messages are sent only to numbers whose owners opted in on montanasnowreport.com, from (406) 804-7669.

Opting in

Text alerts are turned on by the phone's owner, on the alerts page at montanasnowreport.com/account, after signing in with the email a season pass was bought with (sign-in is by emailed link). You type your mobile number and tick a box that reads:

"Text me Montana Snow Report alerts at this number. Message frequency varies with the weather and the alerts I choose, up to six a day. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help."

The Phone form on the alerts page (montanasnowreport.com/account, after sign-in). The box is unticked until the phone's owner ticks it.

Phone

The box is never ticked for you. It is separate from the terms of sale you accept when buying, and a phone number given to Stripe at checkout does not by itself turn texts on. When you tick it we send one confirmation text ("Montana Snow Report: texts are on for this number. Alerts you set to Text will arrive here, up to 6 a day. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel."), and the alerts you then set to Text or Text and email go to that number. Remove the number on the same page, turn off all alerts there, or reply STOP at any time; replying START after a STOP turns texts back on for a number that opted in here.
